Can you really make money online??
That seems to be the question asked more and more every single day. Making money online is still one of the most researched topic of the search engine. There are tons of ways to make money online nowadays, but all the fake scams and claimed "gurus" of make money fast schemes fear people off. I've personally lost a couple hundred chasing the get rich quick schemes that are spammed all over the web. No matter how good the video or advertisement is don't do it! There often paid actors with fake scripts, and even go as far as paying hundreds of people to post a fake review on how easy and great there product is. If you're looking for a get rich quick "push button start"program then I cant help you, but if you want legit ways to make money online I'll gladly assist.
Now besides the typical and obvious ways of making money like eBay, Craigslist, selling your old thing, etc. I'll talk about ways I personally made money myself, to the point where I work from home full-time.
Affiliate Marketing
- Affiliate Marketing is a performance based marketing system in which a business rewards you based on the amount of leads or sales you bring in. In my opinion, it is also the most profitable way to go and will bring you the most amount of money back. The pay ranges from $1 all the way up to $100+ per conversion or sale. The best part about it is that there are over 6 ways to promote them, so it's 1 size fits all.
Types of Marketing Allowed:
- Banners: This is the most commonly used method for promoting offers online. Whether you have your own personal website/blog or you buy someones web space for a certain period of time.
- Contextual: This form of advertising is great for writing a review of the product or company and creating a link sending them through your affiliate link. Works best for personal blogs or websites that review new items
- Email: If you have your own subscriber list for your website or blog, you can make ton's of money email marketing. To get the best results, make sure you're offer is related to the niche of your type of site. For instance, if you have a website about creating websites, a offer for a discounted domain from "Go Daddy" would be more effective.
- PPV: Pay Per View marketing is when you pay to advertise on a site and they display your ads in the form of Pop-up or Pop-under windows for keyword targeted searches. You normally pay around $.02-$.03 per pop up shown. So if the offer you're advertising has a commission of $8.00 and your ad is shown 100x and you only get 1 person = 1%. That means you paid about $3.00 but made $8 in return giving you a $5.00 profit! If you do this enough times, you can make a substantial amount of money. The downside is that it takes a lot of trial, error, and testing to optimize the perfect ad for higher conversions.
- PPC: Pay Per Click marketing is advertising your offers via Google Adwords or Bing search. It's very similar to PPV except its a lot more expensive. The conversion rate is a lot higher since they show up at the top of searches as google ads, but you're keywords needs to be very specific or you may loose money.
- Social PPC: Social Pay Per Click is paid advertising via Facebook, Twitter, etc. This is the cheaper route to ppc compared to Google Adwords, and if you're already good at social media marketing, this is quite easy!
So as you can clearly see, Affiliate Marketing is very diverse and can be marketed in many different ways. Many people also advertise using Google Adsense and I will be writing about that soon, but from experience the pay is too cheap and you need TONS of traffic to really make money. As long as you're willing to take time to select the best offers for your specific niche, Affiliate Marketing can be a lot more profitable.
Advertising Networks
There are a lot of networks around the internet, but many are not to be trusted. Some are known to what's called "shave" there publishers, meaning take some of your earning and not pay you for your conversions. Most of the top paying and highest rated networks require previous experience and a reference which makes getting in quite difficult. Luckily, there are a few top networks that are also newbie safe.
